Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital

Juliet, the head nursing leader at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, requested the start of a Birth With Dignity program at her hospital to begin in early 2026. Because of her strong desire to improve maternity care and start a bereavement program after a perinatal loss, Juliet mobilized 100 of her maternity staff to attend our conference and begin the program together. We are confident, given the hospital leadership and the enthusiasm to improve care, that the team will make a great difference in high-risk maternity care. Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital is our first Birth With Dignity program in the west and we know that region of Uganda is going to see positive changes in the near future.
